| Morgan's Most Memorable |
| A look at the legendary actor's iconic films as he is set to
receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award
By Glenn Kenny He's played God, and now he's going to be awarded with an honor named after the guy who gave the screen its most memorable Moses. (Two of them, in fact.) Venerated actor Morgan Freeman will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award at this year's Golden Globes ceremony. The award honors "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment," and Freeman, whose intensely dignified bearing and unforgettably sonorous voice make him one of the most instantly formidable actors to grace a film screen, is still making contributions at a brisk pace. He'll have at least two pictures out this year, not a huge number, but pretty impressive considering he's turning 75. Then again, although he's been a working actor since the early '60s, he was all of 50 years old when he played a particularly crucial supporting role in a particularly crucial movie. And it's there that we'll begin our survey of what we consider some of Freeman's very best work. Bing: More on Morgan Freeman | More about Cecil B. DeMille Award Want more Movies?
