Fall 2013 TV trends: The future

Here's what you can expect to see this upcoming season

By Michaela Sinclair
Special to MSN TV

With dozens of pilots set to premiere this fall television season, we've caught on to the many trends that have emerged to help you navigate your upcoming viewing experience. In this first part of our series, we take a look at the trend of "the future," as seen in FOX's "Almost Human" and The CW's "The 100" and "Star-Crossed."

The future of television is returning back to the future. Viewers have been no stranger to futuristic settings since the early days of television, including the forgotten one season of "Men Into Space" from the late 50s or the animated series "The Jetsons," now nostalgia-inducing despite its robotic maid, Rosie.

Bing: 'Almost Human' | 'The 100' | 'Star-Crossed'
