| A Bundy Update |
The Post-'Married...With Children' Years By Vinnie PennSpecial to MSN TV There ain't a trace of Kelly Bundy. Nope, watching Christina Applegate alongside Will Arnett in the new sitcom "Up All Night," the hardcore Bundy fan would be hard-pressed to see the slightest similarity. You remember the Bundy's, don't you? Long before "Entourage" ruined my Sunday nights with its abrupt (at least as far as I'm concerned) swan song, a quiet little FOX show that wound up changing the face of the TV sitcom and was at one time the longest-running one on television, "Married...With Children," did the same. It was for over ten seasons appointment TV for this Al-sympathizer--nay, empathizer--and in those pre-TiVo days each and every appointment was kept. I wouldn't TiVo it if I could, although I do see the potential for a hilarious episode where Al attempts to TiVo an episode of "Psycho Dad." Bing: More about 'Married...With Children' Yeah, I miss the Bundy's. More than the Romano's, Cunningham's, and Bunker's combined. I know, it's not like the majority of the cast has been keeping a low profile, which is the thrust of this article, but just as Henry Wrinkler can still slip into Fonz mode with ease, taking me back over 25 years in time in one fell swoop, so too could Ed O'Neill probably conjure up Al. Which I'd love to see. (Damn, not a single one of my letters pitching "Bud: The Series" was ever even responded to or sent back "Return to Sender." I have the show bible, synopsis, and pilot episode--equipped with a Marcy cameo--right here in my top drawer. Hint, hint FOX. Or Comedy Central. Or...what's that Al Gore channel?) Anyway, here's what the gang's been up to since being unceremoniously taken off the FOX schedule many years ago, without so much as a farewell episode... (FOX) Want more TV?
