| Legends of the Fall |
What to expect from the TV season's returning favorites By Kenny Herzog It always seems that summer's dog days fade so quickly. Fortunately, autumn comes pre-loaded with more than just abbreviated daylight and lowered temps. Fall also means the return of America's favorite shows across network, basic cable and premium networks. Not that Summer 2011 was shabby by any stretch, but who among us hasn't craved the return of NBC's stellar Thursday night comedy lineup, or a sixth season of Michael C. Hall playing dad vigilante on "Dexter"? Those are, of course, only two illustrations of what awaits breathless TV addicts in September. Across the dial, there are dramas saying their final goodbyes, cast members moving on, iconic series welcoming new faces and burgeoning classics spreading their wings. Below are a mere 11 of the returning audience-favorites that we welcome back, or in some cases send off, with hard-to-curb enthusiasm.
