TV's creepy smilers

Small-screen actors and actresses who awkwardly express mirth

By Mekeisha Madden Toby
Special to MSN TV

Michael C. Hall is a good-looking guy. And as fans found out at Comic-Con this past summer, he's unnervingly funny as well. But here's the thing: Whenever he'd laugh, you couldn't help but feel a little weirded out. It was like he was channeling his inner Dexter or something. That's what happens when you've played a character as long as Hall, 41, has. After a while, it becomes harder to separate the man from the role. "Dexter" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime. Hall isn't the only one with the demented smile of, say, the Joker or the Grinch. The list also includes marquee actors, such as Kelsey Grammer of Starz's "Boss." Read on for more names and shows.
