'Tis the Season Premiere

10 returning fall series you don't want to miss

By Kenny Herzog
Special to MSN TV

Show business can be a disorienting realm. Just as most TV audiences settle in for the dog days of summer, networks and critics are already focused on the autumn to come. Unlike at the movies, television's big moment arrives in fall, when folks are ready to spend cold evenings indoors and become reacquainted with their living-room sofas. That's also why throngs of hotly tipped series debut in September and just as many returning favorites launch highly anticipated new episodes.

So, as "Breaking Bad," "True Blood," "The Bachelorette," "America's Got Talent" and other midyear cornerstones drift into hiatus, take comfort: The rest of your favorite shows about vampires, courtships, competing vocalists and criminal conspiracy shall heroically overstuff DVRs once again. Here are 10 fall premieres of hit dramas, comedies and reality staples that stand out from the pack. (Warning: Spoilers for those not yet caught up with the below.)
