(...Story Continued from Previous Page)
I don't think it's as much of a crazy life-changing experience as being on "Rock of Love," because I sort of know what's happening more than the guys do. I'm sure if you're one of the guys, you might walk away and be like, "Wow, what just happened?" Whereas I'm on the other side and I know what's going on because it's my show. They're both equally frickin' awesome, but I would never want to be another contestant on another dating show. Unless it was Johnny Depp, and then I might consider it.
What's the vibe like in the house? Is it nonstop partying 24/7?
It's two different things. For me, being on the other side of it, I have to be a lot more conservative in what I'm doing, because I have to make sure that I'm coherent to tell them what they need to do. But it's a fun environment. I think it's a really awesome experience, and I feel really lucky to be a part of it. And I would imagine that anybody who gets to have an experience like this would think it was awesome.
Did it hurt to get those throat tattoos?
Actually, it didn't. One was literally just an outline, which takes about three minutes. And then I went to do the next one at another time and went to color it in, and literally there was probably five minutes of not a lot of pain.
Can you give us some dirt on Riki Rachtman?
There is no dirt on Riki Rachtman! I think Riki Rachtman is one of the most awesome people I've ever met. He has the greatest f---ing personality. I love his humor. He's totally sarcastic. I feel very, very lucky because he was asked to be a part of my show and to help me. And we're genuine friends. We talk all the time. The way we act on camera is the way we act off camera. We actually got in trouble because the producers would be explaining certain things and we'd always be talking. We were like little schoolkids getting in trouble.
Were you familiar with him from his hosting of "Headbangers Ball"?
I didn't actually grow up watching it, but I knew who he was because, obviously, I'm a huge fan of the '80s hair metal stuff. The very first time that I met him was on "Rock of Love" when we did the reunion show and he was like, "I'm a fan of yours. Me and my wife watch you." And I was like, "Whoa! Like Riki Rachtman is a fan of me?" That was the most raddest thing ever. Then to have him actually want to be a part of my show and actually help me is just frickin' cool.
What's the best and worst thing about being a reality TV star?
I think all of it is pretty awesome. I don't think there's really anything bad. I think anything that you do where you put yourself out there in public, no matter what it is, you're going to get criticized. And that's something that I never really thought about. I've been doing entertainment -- music and being a model -- for a long time, but it's just now gotten to a scale where people really truly know who I am. So I didn't ever think that people would be mean or say different things about me. All I've ever wanted to do was inspire people, so that part kind of sucks. I can't say for any other reality stars, but I am real and I am being me. How I am is really how I am on TV. I think reality is a cool thing when you're really being true to yourself.
Do you ever watch shows like "The Soup" or "Best Week Ever" to see the clips they're playing of your show?
I haven't seen if they've played any of my show yet, but I'd be flattered if they did. But I've definitely caught those things showing "Rock of Love." If you can't laugh at yourself, then you have no business putting yourself out there. I laugh at myself all the time, and now other people can enjoy that as well.
So where do you go from here? What are your career aspirations when the TV insanity subsides?
Currently, I'm working on music. I'm getting ready to release a new single. It's called "Suck It." And I also have other songs in the works. I've been really lucky to have worked with some amazing songwriters. I have a clothing line coming out. I travel and do appearances. I do acting and all that stuff, too. Acting and music are pretty much what I've grown up on. And just enjoying my life, taking it all in and enjoying the ride, because you never know when the ride's going to end.
Did you find love, or will we have a second season of "Daisy"?
You will just have to watch and find out for yourself!
"Daisy of Love" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on
VH1.
