If so, that's likely because Steeples' role as the dancing office supply guy in the popular "Rubberband Man" OfficeMax commercial nearly took the Emmy for best television advertisement just one year prior. A veteran of the St. Louis Black Repertory Theatre who later moved to New York City and aligned himself with avant-garde hip-hop outfit No Surrender, Steeples appeared in a number of experimental films by director Kevin Ford before breaking into the mainstream with a role in Torque.
