I understand that gay people want to have the same rights as everybody and I totally support that, but it's become such a big deal that I feel like you should just focus on the love. But I support it because I believe in equal rights.
So aside from your love life, what else will we get to see this season?
I actually went to do an appearance with Ashley. It was her first appearance and she really wanted to do it. It was for a yacht party -- and these two, like, gigolos were trying to get us on the boat and we ended up getting lost at sea. By far the craziest experience that I've ever had.
Lost at sea with two gigolos sounds like a bad sitcom plot.
No, it wasn't fun. We had to come back from the Bimini, Bahamas, on a dinghy boat across the Gulf Stream.

Can you talk about the illustration on the cover of your new album? There was a lot of chatter about it on the internet, but what can you tell us about it?
I know this really amazing artist named Gary Smith who used to do a lot of art for my dad back in his wrestling days. So I told him we're going with "The Redemption" as the theme for the album and I said, "Nobody's really done art art on their cover." And this whole stage of my life is basically me rising up like a Phoenix coming out of the dust clouds and resurfacing and getting my life back together after all this drama's happened. And I was just like, "I want it to look heavenly. I want it to look like an angel. I want it to be almost superhero-esque." So that's what we went with.
And what can you tell us about the songs on the record -- I know there's one called "Dear Mom." What's that about?
That's just basically me voicing how I feel to my mom. And it's very intense and hopefully it'll help other people going through my situation. It's a very hard situation to be at odds with your mother and that's what the song is about.
Can you say things in a song that you might not have the courage to say in real life?
Oh, I've said it in real life, it's just a matter of getting her to listen to it (laughs). I didn't have to put it into a song, but I did it for my fans and because I felt the need to let people know who the real me is. I get sick of concealing that my life isn't perfect. I have problems too and maybe through my experiences I can help other people.
Do you feel like it's been harder to be taken seriously because you have a reality show and a famous dad or has it been the opposite?
It's helped get me well known, but it gives people a bigger dart board to throw darts at. It's a double-edged sword. It's nice to have the recognition and the vehicle of TV, but at the same time people just want to think of you as a cheap reality star that has no talent. And then being Hulk Hogan's daughter, I've had to prove myself twice as much because they know that my dad can open up doors. But with my dad opening up doors, when one door opened, two would slam.
Do you think the cameras in your life had anything to do with all the craziness your family has experienced over the past few years?
I'll always say a cameraman cannot make you get a divorce and a cameraman cannot make you have a fight. All they're doing is standing there holding a camera. I think it's just the stress of having people around all the time. Where normally people go to work and come home to their sanctuary, we worked and lived in our home, so when we had an argument or wanted to talk about something, we had 20 people listening whether they were rolling or not. I think it's just a little bit of extra pressure.
Do you feel like you're accurately portrayed on the show or do they edit you into a caricature of yourself?
They just see one facet of my personality. I'm not going to say anything is fake, but you will never see the real me. Only my close friends and family will.
What's the difference?
When you have a camera in front of your face you naturally censor yourself. You don't say, "Hey, I got my period today!" It's just a natural thing. It's not like we're not being real on camera but you only see certain days of my life.
Has Vince McMahon ever called you and asked you to wrestle?
He has actually. He's like, "Hey Brooke, what about strapping on that spandex." And I'm like, "Or not!"
So it would never happen?
I know I'd be damn good at it, but I don't think I'm going to go there.
Did your dad teach you wrestling moves? Did you have a ring in your house growing up?
There wasn't a ring in my house, but my parents had a four-post bed with connector beams between the post, so when we were little he'd let us stand up and body slam each other.
Season 2 of "Brooke Knows Best" premieres Sunday, June 7, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on VH1.
