Our 13 TV-viewing resolutions for 2013
By Kenny Herzog
Special to MSN TV
Since the Mayans turned out to be false prophets and Dec. 21, 2012,
was not, to quote Michael Stipe, "the end of the world as we know it," time has
come once again to consider what we can do better this coming ... more year. For us, that
necessitates reflecting on how we watched, processed, shared and responded to 12
months' worth of television. What did we come up with? Well, for starters, that
we consume entirely too much of it. Moreover, we somehow still missed plenty of
the small screen's finest in 2012, while overdosing on shows we'll hardly
remember this time next December. We could also be accused of overthinking
series that are merely intended as simple pleasures, becoming way too
emotionally involved in characters' lives and, worst of all, forgetting that
there's a real world outside those doors.
Something tells us your self-assessments would generate similar results. So
it's with good taste (and, when helpful, purposefully low standards) and our own
sanity in mind that we present our 13 TV-viewing resolutions for 2013.
